Do you like piña coladas? Getting caught in the rain of coconutty, pinappley hop-tacular dankness? This is Hollow Moon IPA and it’s great for sipping on at midnight in the dunes of Sea of Tranquility. It’s also lovely to drink on an Earthbound afternoon anywhere. Not overly bitter, not overly sweet or juicy, Hollow Moon is an intriguing beer that feels familiar but still has some secrets you haven’t figured out yet.

The Conspiracy
Behold! The Moon! A truly mysterious celestial body. Strange size, strange in its geological makeup, strange in orbit, strange in the way it rang like a bell right after the moon landing. Moon-spiracies are abundant. Most “hollow moon” ideas blend with “spaceship moon” ideas, referring to the notion that the moon is some sort of artificial construction placed in our orbit for reasons ranging from creating humanity to merely drifting into our orbit accidentally. Why would someone create a moon or install it artificially? Tides? The length of day and night? What would those everyday features of the Earth be like without the Moon? How has that shaped us? How about eclipses? To have eclipses happen, you’d need a moon about 1/400th the size of the Sun that’s also about 400 times closer than the Sun so that both appear to be about the same size in the sky. That’s what we have. What are the odds of that? Astronomical?
